Abacus congratulates credit unions and mutual building societies who are winners and finalists in the 2008 Money Magazine Consumer Finance Awards and 2008 Australian Banking and Finance Magazine Awards.
Community CPS Australia is Money Magazine credit union of the year and Newcastle Permanent is building society of the year. Newcastle Permanent also is runner up behind ANZ as Money Magazine home lender of the year.
Holiday Coast Credit Union is personal lender of the year, ahead of Service One Members Banking and RTA Staff Credit Union.
Qantas Staff Credit Union takes the Readers’ Choice Service Excellence Award.
Runners up in the credit union of the year category are Credit Union Australia, Illawarra Credit Union, Police Credit Union SA, Savings and Loans Credit Union, Australian Central Credit Union, mecu, MyState Financial, Powerstate Credit Union and Orange Credit Union.
Runners up in the building society category include IMB Limited, Heritage Building Society, Hume Building Society, Greater Building Society, B & E, Maitland Mutual Building Society and ABS Building Society.
Australian Banking and Finance Magazine credit union of the year for the second year in a row is Police & Nurses Credit Society. Runners up are Community CPS, Credit Union Australia, Gateway Credit Union and mecu.
Australian Banking and Finance Magazine building society of the year is Heritage Building Society. Runners up included IMB and Newcastle Permanent.
