Credit unions and mutual building societies are among the winners in Money magazine’s 2009 Consumer Finance Awards issue, as published today.
The awards were presented at a lunch in Sydney hosted by Money magazine editor Effie Zahos and with Money magazine commentators Ross Greenwood and Paul Clitheroe.
- Building Society of the Year was won by IMB.
The finalists were Newcastle Permanent Building Society and Heritage Building Society. - Credit Union of the Year was won by Community Alliance Credit Union (Unicom Credit Union, Illawarra Credit Union, Western City Credit Union and Shoalhaven Credit Union).
The finalists were Community CPS Credit Union and mecu. - Personal Lender of the Year was won by Holiday Coast Credit Union.
- The Reader’s Choice: Service Excellence award was won by Qantas Staff Credit Union.
- Sixteen credit unions jointly won Credit Card Issuer of the Year, and they are:
Community CPS Credit Union, CUA, Australian Central Credit Union, ECU Australia, Family First Credit Union, FCCS Credit Union, Holiday Coast Credit Union, Illawarra Credit Union, Maroondah Credit Union, Memberfirst Credit Union, MyState Financial, Orange Credit Union, Powerstate Credit Union, Unicom Credit Union, University Credit Society and Warwick Credit Union.
